Yesterday, the Chief Minister of the state conducted a cabinet meeting where 9 policies were approved. Out of these 9 policies, one policy is about the treatment of infants suffering with Congenital Heart Defect. The Congenital Heart Defect is also known as the hole in the heart. Clinically it is called Atrial Septal Defect (ASD).
Now, talking about the policy, the state government has said to now bear the expense of treating infants suffering from Congenital Heart Defects.
In Bihar, two to three out of every 1000 newborns in the state suffer from ASD and the private hospitals charge around Rs. 1 to 1.5 Lakh for its treatment. Looking at the same, Under Saat Nischay Part 2 the state government promised to provide free treatment to infants suffering from Congenital Heart Defects and are now yesterday in a Cabinet meeting approved a policy to treat such infant patients in the state for free.
