Bihar Government to Renovate Agriculture Production Market Committee

To provide farmers a wide market to sell their products, the state government is renovating all the 54 agriculture produce market committees.

The Bihar government will reportedly approve a Rs 2700 crore fund to renovate these committees.

Through the fund, infrastructure will be developed in the market societies.

The government will prepare separate market arrangements and storage facilities for grains, fruits, vegetables, fish etc.

Agriculture Minister, Amarendra Pratap Singh has reportedly tell that the cost of completing this project will be around Rs 2700 crore.

The Proposed Infrastructure

The market committee will first be surrounded by boundary walls.

They will have proper roads, drainage system, water supply, drainage system, separate toilets for men and women, electricity, etc.

In addition to that, the market committee will also have a godown and cold storage to keep the vegetables and grains.

Renovation Work Starts in 20 Market Committees

The Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation has prepared the proposal to renovate these market committees and sent it to the Finance Department.

The renovation work has already been started in 20 market committees.

Currently, the department is repairing and constructing the road, drains, boundary wall, main gate, high mask light, toilet, etc.

The construction work is being done with the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund.
