In a bid to equip the state with more electrical power, NTPC is setting up a 3300 megawatts of Thermal Power Plant in 3200 acres of land in Barh, Patna.
This 3300 MW Thermal Power Plant Project is classified in two stages. The first stage to assemble three 660 MW power units while the second stage has two 660 MW of power units.
The construction work of the second stage power units has already been completed and is operational right now. The construction work of the three units of the first stage however is in progress right now.
Today, the officials successfully synchronized the first 660 MW power unit of the first stage. With the successful synchronization now this unit is ready to be operational.
The other two 660 MW units of the first stage are planned to be operational by the end of March 2022.
All this would be completed earlier. A Russian Firm TechnopromExport was given the contract to build all the three units of the first stage but seeing delay in completing the project, NTPC terminated the contract with them. Now, NTPC itself is building all the three units of the first stage.
NTPC is commissioning 6150 MW of electricity to Bihar
With its six coal based thermal power plants in Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Barh, Barauni and Aurangabad, NTPC right now is commissioning 6150 MW of electricity in Bihar.
Now, out of this 3300 MW Thermal Power Plant Project, Bihar right now is getting 1198 MW of power from the two units of Stage 2 and once all the three units of Stage 1 become operational the stage will get 1025 megawatts of more power.
