Vaishali, one of the holiest sites in Buddhism, is ready to welcome the world again – this time with a monumental tribute to Lord Buddha. The Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Smriti Stupa, a ₹550 crore mega project, is set for inauguration on July 29, 2025, by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

This isn’t just another museum. Built across 72 acres in Vaishali, the sacred site where Lord Buddha gave his last sermon, this project brings together spiritual significance, global participation, and world-class architecture.

What Makes It Unique?
1. Houses Buddha’s Sacred Relics
The museum will permanently display the holy bone relic casket of Lord Buddha. These relics were unearthed during excavations between 1958–1962 by the ASI and have since been safeguarded by the Patna Museum.
2. Architectural Excellence
