Bihar Sand Mining Policy 2019

This Tuesday, In a cabinet meeting led by Nitish Kumar, introduces the new Sand Mining Policy in Bihar. Moreover, In this article, I’m gonna point out all details concerning with Bihar Sand Mining Policy 2019.

According to Old Policy, a person could mine sands at several ghats. However, the new policy limits that freedom. Now, a person, a company or a firm having sand mining license will able to mine at only two river ghats or in an area less than 200 hectares of land.

Also, do note that If a person mine at one place having 150 hectares, then he could mine at some other site having at most 50 hectares. As I have already explained, one can either choose two ghats or a maximum of 200 hectares of land for sand mining.

This new policy will get into effect starting next year, i.e., January 1, 2020. So, you can expect the price drift of sand rate in Bihar starting next year.

Do note that Bihar Government has taken this decision to maximize the number of license holders of Sand Mining in the state. Also to tighten some fixed sand mafias in Bihar.

The cabinet has also taken the decision of availing sand both online and offline for purchase. The price of the sand, on the other hand, will depend on the market rate, and the government will not put their hand on deciding the cost of sand in Bihar. That’s why I have already pointed above, the sand rate will drift in Bihar starting next year.
