Local variations to be aware of

Across Bihar, the size of one Bigha can vary by region. The standard Bihar Bigha used here is 27,225 sq.ft. (a "Pucca Bigha"), but in some Mithila/north-Bihar districts a Kachcha Bigha of around 14,400 sq.ft. is also used.
