Muzaffarpur Became the 13th Most Polluted City in the World whereas Patna holds the 7th position. Gaya is also on the list and holds the 18th position. This info. first came out when a non-government environment organisation Greenpeace Southeast Asia make a report on it. Muzaffarpur contains average annual PM2.5 of 110.3 micrograms per cubic metre.

Those of you who don’t know what PM2.5 concentration are? Well they are small fine particles that can easily float in air for a long time. Moreover, these particles leads to several chronic diseases like Heart Attack, Asthma and more.

When Times of India asked about this issue with the Public Relation officer of Bihar State Pollution Control Board. He blamed construction activities and settling of Ganga’s alluvial soil in the lower level of Atmosphere.

Recently, Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation has also take decision of sprinkling water to muzaffarpur roads at night. Let see when these works will come in flow. For now, we recommend you to take a mask or something while visiting the roads of Muzaffarpur or visiting the Market.
