Pollution in Bihar is increasing at an alarming rate Looking at Bihar Government bans cutting of Trees in different cities of Bihar.
However, do note that this new scheme is valid only for Government-owned properties and not for people who privately own a tree.
That means from now on for any Government projects like road or highway tenders tree will not be cut down. The Government ask officials, instead of cutting down the tree they should shift the project or the trees to some other place.
Bihar Government takes this decision because most cities in Bihar ranks in the list of World’s most polluted cities. These cities are Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya and Bhagalpur. Patna which holds the 7th position, Muzaffarpur holds the 13th position, Gaya holds the 18th position and so on.
Right now, In Bihar, there isn’t any Tree Protection Act present, that’s why people who privately own a tree in the state cutting it indiscriminately.
Now, with this new initiative, the Government of Bihar put a hold on tree harvesting for at least Government held projects.
I think that’s a great initiative. What do you think? Let us know in the comments down below.
