bihar government going to give reward for making digital payment

To promote digital payment in the state, Bihar Government now in collaboration with Central Government and the GST Council to reward customers for making digital payments. GST Council Chairman and the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi announced, this scheme provides rewards ranging in between 5 thousand to 1 Crore via Lucky draw every month.

To participate in the same scheme, Instead of Cash, a customer has to make a digital payment by taking the bill. Also, the digital payment could be in any form that includes RuPay Card and UPI transaction. Once a customer makes a digital payment for shopping that ranges in between Rs. 100 to Rs. 10000 in a month, he then will be eligible for the same scheme.

Beside Customers, the Government has decided to give benefit to shopkeeps also who promote and accept digital payment. The prize money that is going to be distributed every month will be in a ratio of 3:1 in between a customer and a shopkeeper. To make this scheme more transparent, the prize money is going to be distributed in public. About the prize money, The Government is going to inform the Customer and the Shopkeeper via an Email or an SMS.

Why has the Government Introduced such a scheme?

The main reason to bring such a scheme is to avoid tax evasion and promote digital payments in India. Generally, In retail payment, to avoid tax payment to the Government, customers do not ask for bills to shopkeepers. Shopkeepers, on the other hand, also get the benefit of not giving bills to the Customer to dodge tax payment to the Government.
