Today, in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the government has approved the service conditions regulation of about 3.5 lakh contractual teachers (Panchayat Primary Teachers, District Municipal Council and Urban Body Secondary and Higher Secondary School Teachers) of the state. Now, the service condition regulations are approved, there can be an increase of 15-22% in the salary of about 3.5 lakh contractual teachers present in the state. Apart from this, now these teachers will also take advantage of many other facilities including promotion and voluntary transfer.

Everything that is approved in the meeting held today.

What percentage of the salary will be increased, it is being told that it will be decided on the basis of seniority. Talking about promotions, now these teachers will also be able to take promotion through Joint Limited Examination. Most importantly, now these teachers can apply for a transfer to any corner of Bihar. Apart from these, if a teacher dies due to some reason during his tenure, then one of his family members will get a compassionate job in his place.

Although the increase in the salary of these teachers has been increased to 15-22%, it will be given to these teachers from April 1 next year. Increasing the salary of these teachers will increase the additional burden of Rs 2765 crore on the Bihar government. At present, the Bihar government spends Rs 820 crore towards the salary of these teachers.
