Muzaffarpur Metro DPR

The Detailed Project Report of Muzaffarpur Metro is going to be prepared in the next 4 months.

RITES (Rail India Technical and Economic Service) will prepare this report.

Currently, the agency is preparing the proposal for 20 km (that is for the first phase), however, there is a scope of expansion in the second phase.

The Joint General Manager of RITES has stated that the metro route of first and second phase corridors has been determined by taking consideration of city people’s opinions, traffic conditions and other technicalities.

The length of the Corridor will be 13.85 km expanding in between Harpur, Bakhri, to Ramdayalu Nagar whereas the length of the second corridor will be 7.40 km expanding from SKMCH to Muzaffarpur Junction.

Muzaffarpur Municipal Commissioner, Vikram Virkar has given special instructions to the RITES officials regarding private land acquisition that comes in the route. He said to prepare a separate file collating the details of land owners.

First Corridor Pathway

In the first corridor, a 13.85 km long metro line will be set up.

This Metro line starts from Harpur Bakhri then will go to Sepahpur, Ahiyapur, Zeromile Chowk, Chakgazi, Dadar Chowk, Bariya Bus Stand, Chandni Chowk, Vishundutpur, Bhagwanpur Chowk, Gobarsahi, Khabra and will finally ends at Ramdayalu Nagar.

Second Corridor Pathway

The second corridor will be 7.40 km long.

It starts from SKMCH then Shahbazpur, Zeromile, Sheikhpura, Akharaghat, Company Bagh and then finally Muzaffarpur Junction.
