The Bihar government has announced a major recruitment drive for 19,838 constable posts in the Bihar Police and Bihar Special Armed Police. Of the total vacancies, 6,717 posts have been reserved for women candidates, promoting gender representation in the force.
The online application process for these posts will begin on March 18, 2025, and the last date to apply is April 18, 2025.
This information was shared by Jitendra Kumar, Additional Director General of Police, Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment), during a press conference at the Police Headquarters on Tuesday.
Recruitment Details
The requisition for these vacancies was forwarded to the Central Selection Board through the General Administration Department. The appointments will be made under Pay Scale Level 3, which ranges from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100.

Previous Constable Recruitment Update
ADG Jitendra Kumar also gave an update on the earlier recruitment process for 21,391 constable posts, which concluded on March 10, 2025. The physical efficiency test (PET) for this round was conducted over 92 days, from December 9, 2024, to March 10, 2025.
Following the written examination, 1,07,079 candidates were invited to appear for the PET. The final result for this recruitment cycle is expected to be announced soon.
