Scientist and Researchers are exploring different ways to develop antidotes for COVID-19. In the same race, they came to know about The Convalescent Plasma Therapy where the antibodies or more specifically, the Blood Plasma of a recovered COVID-19 patient is used to treat affected patient. In India, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal to first announce publicly about Plasma Therapy by urging recovered patients to help those who are affected. Recently, At Delhi’s Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, Four Patients reportedly underwent to Plasma Therapy and now have showed positive results.
Now, as per a tweet shared by ANI, Bihar Principal Health Secretary Sanjay Kumar said, Bihar Government is planning for Plasma Therapy at AIIMS, Patna. The Insitution has got the deemed approval from ICMR and may start treating affected patients with the same method soon. However, for now, we haven’t got more details about when AIIMS starts treating affected COVID-19 patients with Plasma Therapay. But, we can insure you as soon as we got any further detail we will update about the same on our site.

How Convalescent Plasma Therapy Works?
In this method, as I said above, the antibodies (or Blood Plasma) of the recovered COVID-19 patients is used to treat the infected ones. However, before injecting the donor blood in the infected body first it will be examined for the presence of other diseases like Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV and more. Once it is confirmed the donor blood is safe to use, then the process of plasma extraction from the donor blood starts that contains the antibodies to fight with COVID-19 microbe. Lastly, the antibodies will then be injected into the infected patient.
It is said that, these antibodies formed in the recovered patient are highly specific to invade COVID-19 pathogen.
