Muzaffarpur Airport

In a bid to connect the North Bihar with the Airlines Services, Darbhanga Airport might start the Airlines Services to three of the major cities in India from October 25 this year. It is reported, Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, Spice Jet has been allowed to start flights in between Darbhanga to Mumbai, Bangalore, and Delhi.

On the same date, it is reported the first flight is going to arrive in Darbhanga from Bangalore at 11:15 am and the same flight will take off to return to Bangalore at 11:45 am. The same day an aircraft from Delhi will arrive at Darbhanga Airport at 12:10 pm and will fly for Mumbai at 12:40 pm. Last but not the least a flight from Delhi will arrive at Darbhanga Airport at 3:55 pm and the same flight will take off to return to Delhi at 4:25 pm.

As per the Airport sources, although the DGCA has included these flights in the Winter Schedule that starts from October 25, the Airport must construct a lot of things that is not easily seeing the existing condition of rain in the state. It takes around 45 days to complete finishing the runway and constructing the approach road which is quite a difficult task to do due to the rain. For now, in place of terminal building, Porta Cabin has been made on the Airport. Presently, Airforce is taking care of all the arrangements of this Airport.
