North Bihar to get its first Zoo at Forbesganj

While Chairing the 9th State Wildlife Board Meeting, The Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced, the state will soon get the second whereas the North Bihar to get its first Zoo at Forbesganj in Araria District. This Zoo has approved to be built in 289 acres of land located in Raniganj. Currently, the same area holds 6 Deer and Few Pythons. In the same meeting held at Samvad (that is behind CM’s residence at 1 Aney Marg), the Deputy Chief Minister, Sushil Kumar Modi who also holds the responsibility of the state Forest Department were present. The other board members, however, was joined the meeting via Video Conferencing.

Separate Wing to Promote Eco-Tourism in Bihar

In a bid to develop the eco-tourism facilities in the state, the Bihar CM ordered the forest department to create a separate wing to locate eco-tourism spots in the state and create eco-tourism facilities in the forest areas.

In the same meeting, the board ordered the concerning authority to start building the Ropeway at Mundeshwari Hills, Kaimur and to do that the board also gave the environmental clearance to lay the power transmission as well as optical fibre lines there. With Ropeway at Mundeshwari Hills, Bihar to have three Ropeways, one that is under construction at Mandar Hills, Banka, while Rajgir was the first one to get the Ropeway that is operation right now. In the meeting, the board however has decided to develop an Integrated building at the base of the existing Ropeway in Rajgir. This Integrated building will be used for Parking, Restaurants, and other utilities.

In the 9th State Wildlife Board Meeting, the State Chief Minister ask the Forest Department to develop Eco-Tourism Spots in Valmikinagar, Manguraha, Rajgir, Gaya, Nawada, Araria, and Kaimur.
