In a bid to forecast and reduce the damage of floods in the state, this Tuesday, Water Resource Minister Sanjay Kumar Jha laid the foundation stone of a Water Knowledge Center in Anisabad, Patna. This state of art data center for flood management in the State is the dream of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar that has now been fulfilled.

The data center automatically collects data about floods from various sources using Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things. Next, using different sets of algorithms the data center then compiled the collected data to forecast a Flood prediction.

The main aim behind building this data center is not just for Flood Forecast but to also manage the assets of Koshi and Bagmati Dam. Also, the data center helps to model these rivers easily that are the primary source of floods in the state.

A Mathematical Model Center is also built inside the Water Knowledge Center to forecast the water level data of all the rivers flowing primary in Bihar. Apart from the Mathematical Center, a state of art Physics Paradigm Center is also being setup in Birpur, that will co-ordinate with the Knowledge Center to forecast and predict floods in Bihar.
