Now, with just 8 days left for Chhath Puja, the district administration has issued its instructions in this regard. In the Corona period, people can celebrate Chhath Puja at various ghats and pokhars present in the city. However, the district administration has appealed to the people to celebrate this festival from home as well. In order for people to not have any difficulty in celebrating this festival on the various ghats present in the city, the district administration has started preparing for it.
The district administration has directed the municipal corporation to clean the six ghats present in the city. These six ghats include Akhadaghat, Sikandarpur Sidhi Ghat, Ashram Ghat, and Chandwara Ghat. A dozen municipal officials have started working to complete this work.
Apart from the ghats, about two dozen Pokhars in the city have also been directed to be cleaned. Its responsibility has been entrusted to the Circle Inspectors and Ward Jamdars. The major Pokhars present in the city include Sahu Pokhar, Teen Pokhariya, Parav Pokhar, and University Pokhar.
All these ghats and ponds have been instructed to repair proper electricity, water and roads so that the devotees do not face any kind of trouble.
