Yesterday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar flagged off a fleet of electric buses in the state. Currently, the state has got 25 electric buses out of which 13 have arrived now and the remaining will be available soon.
Out of these 13 electric buses, Muzaffarpur has got 1 electric bus that runs in between Muzaffarpur and Patna.
This 45 seater electric bus starts every morning at 7 am from Imlichatti Bus Stand, Muzaffarpur and will reach Gandhi Maidan, Patna at 9 am. From Gandhi Maidan, Patna it leaves for Muzaffarpur at 2 pm and will reach Muzaffarpur at 4 pm.
Electric Bus Features
These electric buses are equipped with a range of facilities given below.
- These electric buses do not have any clutch but they have automatic speed control systems.
- There is a CCTV camera both inside and outside the bus, which is a very important feature from the security point of view.
- According to the driver, it is much more comfortable to drive an electric bus than a petrol and diesel bus. Apart from that, the speed and braking system of electric buses are better.
- These buses can be fully charged in 2 hours, while on full charge, it can cover a distance of up to 250 km.
The fare for traveling between Muzaffarpur and Patna via electric bus has been kept at Rs 150.
