This is the first time Bihar Government is procuring the Pulses from the Farmers in the state. The State Food Corporation has taken the responsibility to procure the pulses from farmers.

While the Procurement process starts today, it will end on May 15, 2021. To successfully complete the procurement of pulses, the state food corporation has opened purchasing centers at 101 subdivisions in the state. Earlier, the same centers were at district level only.

The Bihar Government is reportedly purchasing both the Grams and Lentils at the support price of Rs. 5100 per quintal. The Government has also set the purchase target for both these pulses. On one hand, the Government has targeted to purchase 1.43500 Lakh Quintals of Gram Dal, on the other hand, they have targeted to purchase 3.21500 Lakh Quintals of Lentils.

To sell their pulses, the Farmers have been said to register themselves on the e-prosperity website of NAFED.
