IMD Patna alerts Bihar from Cyclone Yaas

The India Meteorological Department of Patna has alerted some regions of Bihar from the upcoming Cyclone Yass that is going to hit the Bay of Bengal tomorrow.

As said, the cyclone will start from the Bay of Bengal tomorrow at the speed of 60 km/h and will cross the coast of Odisha at 40 km/h where it will be depressed and then will move towards Bihar.

The IMD Patna division has said, although the effect of Cyclone Yass will be seen in all the districts of Bihar in between May 27 to 30 but it will mostly affect the southern districts of Bihar.

Due to Cyclone Yaas, Bihar might face Thunderstorms, Intense Lightning, and Gusty Wind in the upcoming four days i.e., in between May 27 to 30.

Following the same, the IMD Patna division had issued a Yellow alert for all the districts of Bihar.

The Meteorological department has also alerted the state government about the impact of cyclone that might cause the uprooting of trees, disruption of power supply and flooding in some low-level areas, hence, has urged the state government to must prepare for the same.
