new koilwar bridge sonepur river bihar

Muzaffarpur is the fourth most populous city of Bihar and there are few such bridges in this city which remain jammed for hours.

Akharaghat bridge is one of them.

In view of the increasing jam situation on the Akharaghat bridge, about two years ago, the district administration had sent a proposal to the state government to build another bridge parallel to the Akharaghat bridge.

After sending the proposal to the district administration, the bridge construction corporation had got the soil tested.

Now after two years, the central government has given the approval to build this bridge.

This was confirmed by Bihar’s Road Construction Department Minister Nitin Naveen yesterday in a hotel located in Mithanpura, Muzaffarpur in front of journalists.

The minister said that about Rs 42.77 crore would be spent on the construction of this 600-meter long bridge.

The process of the tender will be started soon for the construction of this bridge.

The contact path of the Atharghat bridge will be completed before the rains.

Apart from the Akharaghat bridge, the Minister informed that the construction work of high-level bridge at Atharghat on the Budhi Gandak river has been completed. The problem of land acquisition for the construction of the approach road has been resolved. The target has been set to complete this work before the rainy season. This bridge has been constructed at a cost of 35.54 crores.
