Right now, it takes around 18 to 20 hours to reach Delhi from North Bihar.

To reduce this time span, the east-central railway has proposed to start 10 Vande Bharat Express trains.

Out of these 10 trains, 2 of them are proposed to run from North Bihar.

The first one starts from Barauni (of Sonpur Division) whereas the second one starts from Saharsa (of Samastipur Division).

Both of these trains will pass through Muzaffarpur.

Once these trains will start, it takes 14 to 16 hours to reach Delhi and Mumbai from the North Bihar districts.

Right now, the maintenance and renovation work of the railway tracks (which fall on the same route) is going on.

Also, tracks, where single lines are present, are being upgraded to double lines.

MEMU racks will be used in the Train

In Vande Bharat Express trains, MEMU racks will be used which is generally used in Metros.

In MEMU racks there will be no use of engines (additionally).

Also, these trains will run from both sides.

The CPRO of East Central Railway, Virendra Kumar has said that we are preparing to start these trains as soon as we get approval from the Railway Ministry.
