In a major move to boost rural healthcare in Bihar, the AYUSH Ministry has approved the development of 15 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Muzaffarpur health centers. These holistic treatment centers will offer care using traditional Indian medicine systems such as Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Unani.

What Are Ayushman Arogya Mandirs?

The Ayushman Arogya Mandir is a special health center set up under the AYUSH healthcare initiative. It aims to bring natural healthcare in villages through time-tested Indian practices. The goal is to provide easy access to Ayurvedic treatment in Muzaffarpur and other ancient systems in rural areas.

Each center will have:

  • Qualified AYUSH doctors in Bihar
  • Free diagnosis and treatment
  • Awareness about medicinal plants
  • Advice on lifestyle and diet changes

List of Selected Health Centers

The first phase will develop 15 village wellness centers across different blocks in Muzaffarpur. Some of these include:

  • Health Sub-Center, Kodaria (Minapur)
  • Government Ayurvedic Dispensary, Chainpur (Motipur)
  • Government Homeopathic Dispensary, Bedaul
  • Health Sub-Center, Bajidpur (Bochaha)
  • Mathurapur Mukund (Sakra)
  • Pirouncha (Gaighat)

Each of these Muzaffarpur health centers will now function as Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.

Ayurveda Park Will Also Be Set Up

In addition to treatment, each location will have an Ayurveda park. These parks will grow medicinal plants and offer education on their uses. Plants will be displayed in pots with clear labels. Local people will learn how these herbs help in daily life.

Equipment and Staffing

The AYUSH ministry initiative includes sending furniture, diagnostic tools, and medicines from the state headquarters to each center. The responsibility of running these centers will be with the Desi Chikitsa Padadhikari (local AYUSH medical officer).

Services Offered

The Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will provide:

  • Ayurvedic treatment in Muzaffarpur
  • Blood pressure and sugar checks
  • Counseling on lifestyle changes
  • Guidance on home remedies and herbs

The focus is on preventive care using traditional Indian medicine. The aim is to offer trusted, affordable health services closer to home.
