IIT Patna has Signed a MoU with Flipkart

In a bid to help creating Industry focused products in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Natural Language Processing (NLP), IIT Patna has signed an MoU with the Walmart owned e-commerce giant in India “Flipkart”.

This Memorandum of Understanding will not just help Flipkart to achieve its goal, instead will also help the students and teachers of the academic Institution to gain exposure of what’s really going in the Industry right now. In addition to that, IIT Patna will may also be able to work closely on Flipkart research projects.

How IIT Patna Going to Help Flipkart Achieving this MoU?

It is said, to make this MoU successful, IIT Patna is going to start a numerous program like writing research papers, seminars, internships and more.

What Flipkart Chief Data Scientist says about this Collaboration?

Flipkart’s Chief Data Scientist, Mayur Datar said, this collaboration will not just help e-commerce in India to reach more customers and sellers but will also help academics gain knowledge of the e-commerce industry from the backend.

IIT Patna’s Computer Science Professor “Asif Ekbal” Comment

Asif said this collaboration is particularly aimed at creating a robust machine learning solution to translate an enormously large reviews written in English on the platform to the Indian Vernacular Languages.

Beside IIT Patna, In India, Flipkart works closely with a numerous of other academic Institutions. Some of the popular names are IISc Bangalore, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Kolkata.
