While from today on, the auto rickshaw fare charge increases in the city by 30 percent, yesterday, near Bairiya Bus Stand, in a meeting conducted by Bihar Motor Transport Federation, decided to increase the Bus Fare from Muzaffarpur to other cities of Bihar by 25 percent.
The new bus fare starts taking effect from March 15, 2021. Also, the bus fare has been increased by keeping in mind that it should be a multiple of 5. For example, if the bus fare for some place is Rs. 15 to Rs. 17, then the new fare must be kept Rs. 15 (a multiple of 5). This has been done so that the passengers do not have trouble with the change.
Last time the bus fare was increased by 10 to 15 percent back in February 2018.
The Bus Transport Federation says that if diesel prices fall in the next two weeks, from 1 to 15 March, the federation can deliberately reduce the fare of the bus by 5 per cent after consultation.
After a 25 percent increase, the general bus fare from Muzaffarpur to Patna might be Rs. 135 at current which is Rs. 110.
