In talking with Times of India, Back in 2018, ISRO chairman, K Sivan said, ISRO will soon set up 6 research centers in the country. Patna was also one of these 6 research centers.
Now, today we came to know that, ISRO is opening one of its Regional Academic Center for Space (RAC-S) in NIT Patna.
Tomorrow (On November 24, 2021), ISRO and NIT Patna are going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the same.
The Academic Center will promote the B.Tech and M.Tech students to do research about Space technology.
NIT Patna is soon going to include the Space Technology course in its curriculum.
ISRO RAC-S in Patna to get Rs 2 crore fund every year
Professor Jain told Dainik Jagran, every year ISRO RAC-S Patna will get a Rs 2 crore grant from the government to promote research in the field of space and communication.
The Center will promote the research work of B.Tech, M.Tech, CSIR NET, and JRF students who come from Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Sikkim, West Bengal, Andaman, and Nicobar Island.
The Assistant Professor of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Dr. Manpuran Mahto has been made the coordinator of this center.
