In order to promote scientific investigation, Bihar soon builds 9 forensic science laboratories in the state.
Currently, the land has been marked where these laboratories are to be built and its construction process will start soon.
Once these laboratories will be built, Bihar will solve more criminal cases with scientific research.
These laboratories will be built in 18000 sqft. Area. These laboratories will be built 3 stories so that In future it can accommodate more things.
There are a total of 13 police ranges in Bihar.
Except Rail, these laboratories are to be built in all the police ranges.
In Bihar, the main forensic science laboratory is located in Patna, whereas three regional laboratories are present in Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, and Rajgir. Hence, the state currently has 4 forensic science laboratories and soon nine laboratories will be open in the below districts.
- Magadh
- Shahabad
- Munger
- Begusarai
- Purnia
- Saharsa
- Darbhanga
- West Champaran
- Saran
Currently, the land has been marked in all the above districts and Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation will soon start its construction.
Initially, these laboratories will be capable to investigate lower cases. For example, investigation of guns and bullets using Ballistics Comparison Microscope. Later on, they will be evolved to investigate bigger cases involving polygraph tests, fingerprint scanning, photo and handwriting comparison, and so on.
