New Power Substations are going to be built in Muzaffarpur

This Saturday, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated 1160 Megawatts of powerhouse units in Barauni, Begusarai, and Barh.

250 Megawatts Units each in Barauni and Begusarai whereas one unit of 660 Megawatts capacity in Barh.

Barh to soon get two more powerhouse units soon.

Apart from the Chief Minister, Union Energy Minister RK Singh, JDU National President Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh and other MLAs were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

At the inauguration ceremony, CM Nitish said, Back on January 26, 1960, the first Chief Minister of Bihar, Dr. Shri Krishna Sinha was the first one to lay the foundation stone of three 15 Megawatt powerhouse units in Barauni. In 2018, these units were handed over to NTPC and now they are generating 720 Megawatts of electricity in Bihar. Comparing the state of electricity in the service period of the opposition party, CM Nitish said, In 2005, Bihar generates 700 Megawatts of electricity which has now been increased to 6600 Megawatts.

CM Nitish Demanded One Nation One Electricity Rate

While inaugurating the 1160 Megawatts of powerhouse units, CM Nitish reiterated the demand for one-nation-one-electricity. He said one-nation-one-electricity will reduce the electricity cost for common people.

Bihar will get Rs 24 Thousand Crore to Modernize Power System

At the inauguration ceremony, Union Energy Minister, R.K. Singh said, after strengthening the power system, we are now focusing to modernize it.

For that, Bihar will soon get Rs 24 thousand crores.

The Energy Minister said, right now around 10000 Megawatts of electricity are produced in Bihar and the demand is increasing rapidly. Hence, we have plans to increase the electricity capacity in the state as well.
