Center Approved Rs 1361 Crore for Darbhanga AIIMS

In a bid to gift North Bihar a Super Speciality Hospital, The Central Finance Ministry has reportedly approved Rs 1264 crore fund for Darbhanga AIIMS. With this fund, it is now hundred percent clear, Darbhanga to soon get a super speciality hospital called AIIMS.

A primary project report of Health Ministry says, the hospital to have a total of 750 beds and to construct the same, an estimate of Rs 1264 crore has been made. Now, recently a meeting chaired under the Union Finance Secretary has stamped the same estimated amount.

Once Darbhanga completes constructing the hospital, it will be the second AIIMS in Bihar (Patna already have an AIIMS) whereas the first one in North Bihar. The Central Government has committed to construct five super specialty hospitals in Bihar. In Muzaffarpur, a super specialty hospital is already in construction in the SKMCH premises.

Now, although from past three years, it was in doubt whether Darbhanga gets the AIIMS or not but now has been cleared as the Central Government approved the fund. The construction work is expected to be started within few days.
