crackers ban muzaffarpur patna gaya

Seeing the rising pollution graph, the Bihar State Pollution Control Board has banned the sale and use of Firecrackers in three cities of Bihar that are – Muzaffarpur, Patna, and Gaya.

The principal bench of NGT (National Green Tribunal) has taken the decision to ban the sale and use of crackers in all the cities and towns in India where the ambient air quality was poor or worse in November last year. The state pollution control board, on the other hand, is just following the NGT directive.

As per the NGT, only green crackers are allowed to burst in cities where the air quality is moderate. However, these crackers are allowed to burst for not more than two hours. The NGT directive is application not just only for Diwaali but for the upcoming festivals and events such as Chhath, Christmas, and New Year.

Now, although the state pollution control board has notified the Director General of Police to monitor the implementation of this order, buyers and sellers are freely selling and purchasing the crackers. Most of them, even don’t know, the crackers are banned in the cities.
