Bihar to use AI and Remote Sensing to Detect the Source of Air Pollution

The state government will now rely on artificial intelligence and remote sensing technology to detect the growing air pollution in the state and their source.

On Tuesday, the Bihar State Pollution Control Board signed an MoU for the United Nations Development Program.

The MoU was signed online by Dr. Ashok Kumar, chairman of the Bihar State Polution Control Board and Shoko Nada, representing the United Nations Development Program from India.

After signing the MoU, Bihar State Pollution Control Board will soon be able to use the Geo AI platform built by the Accelerator Lab of the United Nations Development Program and the University of Nottingham.

In a report published by the Times of India, Dr. Ghosh said that through the Geo AI platform, 38 districts of the state will identify illegal brick kilns and other polluting sources. As we all know, the vehicles and traffic congestion in Bihar, due to this there is a lot of air pollution, so through the above technology, the government will be able to easily identify the places where there is air pollution due to traffic congestion.
