Muzaffarpur starts vaccination of 18 to 44 year olds at 23 centers

From today, Bihar starts vaccinating people of age 18 to 44 years in select Primary Health Centers, Subdivision Hospitals, District Hospitals, and Medical Colleges in the state. For now, the state has received three and a half lakh doses of vaccine from the Centre.

Starting January this year, while the district already starts the vaccination drive for frontline workers and people of age at least 45 years, from today on the district has started the vaccination drive from people of age falls in between 18 to 44 years.

The 23 centres in the district has been selected for conducting the vaccination drive. Out of these 23 centres, 16 of them are Primary Health Centers from all the blocks of the district, 4 of them are Urban PHCs. The remaining ones are the Muzaffarpur Sadar Hospital, SKMCH and Red Cross.

Presently, 16800 doses have been made available to Muzaffarpur for vaccination. Out of these 16800 doses, 800 doses are given to Aurai, 500 to Bandra, 700 to Bochhan, 800 to Gaighat, 900 to Kanti, 800 to Katra, 800 to Kudhani, 800 to Madwan, 800 to Minapur, 800 to Motipur, to 600 to Muraul, 900 has been allocated to Mushahari, 1200 to Sadar Hospital, 800 to Sahebganj, 800 to Sakra, 800 to Saraiya, 1000 to SKMCH, and 2200 to Urban Vaccination Centers.

To get the vaccine, one should have to register at the cowin.gov.in portal. The registration starts daily. Also, while some centres in the district are giving COVAXIN doses to people of age more than 45 years, all the centres are giving COVISHIELD doses to the people of age more than 18 year.
