Bihar to provide 33 percent reservation to girls in Medical and Engineering Colleges

This Wednesday, the Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Nitish Kumar chaired a virtual meeting to discuss about Bihar Engineering and Medical University Bill 2021.

In order to better manage the Engineering and Medical Universities in the state, the state government is setting up the Engineering and Medical University Bill 2021.

The Science and Technology minister of the state, Shri Lokesh Kumar Singh was also present in the virtual meeting where he was informed about the Bihar Engineering University Act 2021 as well as its power, functions, and other jurisdictions.

The Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar Health Department, Shri Pratyay Amrit was also present in the virtual meeting where he explained about Bihar University of Health Sciences as well as its power, functions, and other jurisdictions.

After looking at all the presentations shared in the virtual meeting, the State CM said, the establishment of Engineering and Medical Universities will give boost to technical and medical education in Bihar. It also stops students to migrate to other states for pursuing higher education.

State Girls to get 33% reservation to admit in Engineering and Medical Colleges

In order to promote more girls to take part in higher and technical education, the state government has suggested the panel to provide 33% reservation to native girls who will take admission in Engineering and Medical Universities and Colleges in the state. It will also increase the enrollment ratio of girls in the state’s engineering and medical colleges.
