In order to provide doorstep banking services even in rural areas, Prime Minister Modi launched the India Post Payment Bank in the year 2018.
The main aim of the bank is to utilize more than 1.5 lakh post offices in the country as the access point to provide doorstep banking services.
In Muzaffarpur, there are a total of 54 post offices out of which 35 have started giving the core banking services, and the remaining 19 are said to start giving the services by end of this month.
