Muzaffarpur City Bus Service
Muzaffarpur City Bus Service

Back in 2002, the then District Magistrate of Muzaffarpur, Mr. Amrit Lal Meena introduced the city bus service in Muzaffarpur.

Through city bus service, people used to reach from one end of the city to another in two to four rupees.

Then year after year the number of autorickshaws in the district increased, and then gradually the city bus service from Muzaffarpur disappeared.

The city has changed a lot in the last few years.

When Muzaffarpur was selected as a smart city in the year 2017, the plight of the city has started improving.

After being selected in Smart City, now the roads of Muzaffarpur are being widened. Like we told you last month that a spinal road is being made by widening it from Bairia Golambar to Station Road.

The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation has decided to start the city bus service again in the city.

On the lines of Patna, the city bus service will start soon in all major cities of Bihar. City bus service has started in Patna through electric and CNG buses.

To start the city bus service in Muzaffarpur, the Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation is currently procuring buses. Apart from procuring buses on its own, the corporation can also take services from private bus owners. As soon as the prescribed buses are procured, there will be a formal inauguration program.

Initially, limited buses will be procured so that operations can start on major routes. Then gradually it will be operationalized in semi-urban and rural areas as well.
