Despite all, In the meeting most of the ward councillors favoured to build separate drain in their ward at cost of Rs 5 lakh.
Following the majority, the Municipal Commissioner approved the proposal to build separate drains in each ward at cost of Rs 5 lakh.
Muzaffarpur Mayor has the power to approve any City Plan
In the last meeting, many ward councillors object to give mayor the power to approve any plans implemented in the wards.
However, In Tuesday’s meeting, the Municipal board gives mayor the power to approve any city plans.
So, from now on, if any ward councillor wants to implement any plan in his/her ward then have to get its approval first by the Muzaffarpur Mayor.
The lack of improper drainage system is one of those issues why Muzaffarpur faces water logging problem every other year. Let’s see whether drains in each ward going to overcome this problem or not.
