Muzaffarpur 12 Zones Piped Natural Gas

In February 2020, we first came to know Muzaffarpur will soon get Piped Natural Gas connection.

Thereafter, In February this year, we came to know that, IOCL starts laying down the underground pipes for PNG in select areas of Muzaffarpur.

Recently, we told you, IOCL is setting up district regulating stations in Muzaffarpur whose work will be to control the pressure when the gas enters from one network to another.

Now, we came to know that, Muzaffarpur has been divided into 12 zones for getting Piped Natural Gas.

Each of these 12 zones consists of one or more Mohallas as mentioned below.

  1. Bhagwanpur, Prabhatnagar, Bibiganj, Patahi and Damodarpur
  2. Khabra, Gobarsahi, Dumri, Madhopur Susta and Adarsh Nagar
  3. Kalambagh Road, Nayatola, Chhatra Chowk, Majholia, Chakkar, Madipur and University Zone
  4. Amgola, Orient Club, Aghoria Bazar, Ramdayalu Nagar and Atardah
  5. Mithanpura, Pani Tank, Narayanpur, Miscott, and PNT Colony
  6. Kanholi, Khadi Bhandar, Malighat, Chunabhatti, Kalibari and Chatubhuj places
  7. Motijheel, Kalyani, Sutatti, Saraiyaganj, Imlichatti, Company Bagh, Hathi Chowk, Rambagh, Purani Bazar, Umbrella Bazar, and Harisbha Chowk
  8. Akharaghat, Pankaj Market, Balughat, Chandwara and Lakridhai
  9. Brahmapura, Sikanderpur, MIT, Police Lines, Laxmi Chowk and Jooranchhapra
  10. Prophetpur Kolhua, Bairia, Chandni Chowk and Sadatpur
  11. Ahiyapur, Shahwajpur and SKMCH
  12. Zeromile, Sheikhpur, and Nazirpur

The pipe-laying work will start in all these 12 zones from the first week of December this year and is expected to be completed in six months.

State-of-the-art technology like Horizontal Direction Drilling Machine will be used to lay the pipe so as to minimize the damage to roads and footpaths.

For the same, NOC has been taken from the departments like District Administration, Municipal Corporation, Rural Works Department, Road Construction Department, and more.

It is targeted to give 10 thousand PNG connections in each zone in the first phase whereas a total of 10 lakh houses in the district are planned to get its benefit.

Currently, Pipe laying work is going on in between Barauni to Muzaffarpur. In Muzaffarpur, Pipeline is being laid at Dighara. As per the officials, the work has been delayed due to waterlogging.
