The First Ethanol Production Unit in Bihar is Opening in Ara

The first Ethanol Production Unit in Bihar is all set to open in the Devdi village of Garhani block in Ara.

The estimated cost to construct the unit is Rs 500 crore and is expected to be operational from March next year.

The unit will produce 400 Kilolitre of ethanol per day.

While the unit will benefit the farmers (by purchasing their agricultural waste), it will also generate employment for locals.

The Production Unit is being constructed by Bihar Distillers & Bottlers Private Limited. Most parts of the unit are constructed, hence, it will be inaugurated by March 2022.

In addition to Ethanol production, the unit will also produce fodder for animals.

The state cabinet has recently approved to construct the state’s first ethanol production unit in Ara as well as soft drink production unit in Barauni.

In a year after bringing the Ethanol Production Promotion Policy, the state is finally opening the first ethanol production factory.

Barauni Soft Drink Production Unit

A soft drink production unit is all set to open in Barauni, Bihar.

In addition to producing the 1.20 crore carbonized soft drink boxes, the unit will also produce 94 lakh fruit juice boxes and 86 crore packaged drinking water boxes yearly.

Varun Beverage Limited will take care of the production unit.

The unit is nearly constructed and will be operational in a month.

The state cabinet has approved Rs. 278.85 crore for the Soft Drink Production Unit in Barauni and Rs. 168.42 crore for the Ethanol production unit in Ara.

Each of these two units is expected to employ around 2000 people.
