Last month, I told you the power companies in the state have filed a petition to the Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission demanding to increase the electricity cost by 10% starting April next year.
After hearing the proposal of power companies, the commission has finally accepted their proposal.
We have accepted the companies petition and now electricity rates will be decided after the public hearing.

Now, after public hearings, the commission will decide whether to increase the power cost or not.
The first public hearing is said to be conducted on January 13, 2022, at Bhabua, Kaimur.
The hearing will be conducted at the Kaimur District Collectorate office where officials will listen to the common people’s opinions.
Besides Kaimur, the public hearing will be conducted in other select districts as well.

Every year, power companies have to submit their proposal for electricity costs in the state. Following the same ritual, the Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited, Bihar Grid Company Limited, and State Load Dispatch Center have submitted their separate proposal whereas for Domestic, Commerical, and Industrial consumers, the North Bihar and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited has submitted their own proposal. However, all these companies have demanded to increase the electricity cost by 10%.
