It’s been a while citizen living in Muzaffarpur wants an airport in their region.
Seems like their desire and need are taking shape now.
Yesterday, after inspecting the Patahi airport with a team of officials, BJP Minister Suresh Kumar Sharma announced about the initiation of domestic air service from Patahi airport.
He said, domestic air service will soon start from Muzaffarpur’s Patahi airport.
In fact, the service might start before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Soon, 48 seaters airplanes will take off from hugely demanded Muzaffarpur’s Patahi airport.
With this airport, Muzaffarpur citizens can reach different cities in India in no time.
A private agency is preparing the work to construct the airport.
In addition to the Muzaffarpur Airport, the minister also said, an airport will be activated in Bhagalpur and Purnia as well next year.
Airport’s DPR has been sent to Central Ministry
Officials from Airport Authority of India has said that an Air service company (the name has not been out yet) has taken interest and agreed to invest Rs 120 crore.
The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Airport has been prepared by Jayveer Singh (Assistant Professor, IIT Jodhpur).
And now the DPR has been sent to the Central Ministry.
As per AAI officials, the foundation stone of the redevelopment of Muzaffarpur’s Patahi airport will happen this month.
Currently, the Airport has 99 acres of land and 1200 meters for the runway.
In the first phase, important things like Air Traffic Control, Hanger, and Main Building will be constructed.
