The Central Library of Bihar University is soon going to be fully digital. Regarding the same, an action plan is being prepared by the University.
While Central Universities in other states already have advanced digital libraries, Bihar so far haven’t one.
A team of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has been given the responsibility to make an advanced digital library for Bihar University.
The team recently has inspected the University and suggest the equipment required to build the digital library.
In addition to Bihar University, the team also inspected the Lalit Narayan Mithila University as a digital library is also going to be built there.
Beside making a digital library, the Bihar University is also planning to digitize all the PG departments to create fully digital classes and Smart Lab.
In addition to the above, the University has prioritized to digitize the Degree section because it has kept more than 50 years old Tabulating Registers (TR) out of which some becomes shabby now. Due to the same the University find it difficult to issue the degree. The University is planning to digitalize all these Tabulating Registers.
