Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 to complete before November 29

While we all are eagerly waiting for the dates of Bihar Assembly Elections 2020, the Election Commission of India has today announced the same. The Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 is scheduled to be completed in three phases. The first phase cast votes for 71 seats in 16 districts on October 28. The second phase cast votes for 94 seats in 17 districts on November 3, and the third phase cast votes for 78 seats in 15 districts on November 7, 2020.

Current Bihar Legislative Assembly Terms ends on November

Well, those of you who don’t know the existing Bihar Legislative Assembly term is ending on November 29, 2020. Therefore, the Election must be completed to fill 243 legislative assembly seats in the state again. The election result is scheduled to be released on November 10, that means 3 days just after the last phase.

Last Dates Candidates can File their Nomination

Candidates who want to contest for the legislative assembly seats in the first, second, and third phase, must file their nomination before October 8, 16, and 20 respectively, as these are the last dates to enroll for the nomination. A notification about enrolling in the first, second, and third phase will be posted on October 1, 9, and 13 respectively.

Here is What Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said about Bihar Assembly Elections 2020

The Chief Election Commissioner of India, Sunil Arora said, this is the first time in India, an assembly election is being conducted in any state amid an epidemic. Hence, we are going to take every possible precaution. For example, we are arranging 7 lakh sanitizers, 46 lakh masks, 6 lakh face shields, and 23 lakh hand gloves for the personnels who are participating to complete the assembly election amid the pandemic. For voters, we are arranging 7.2 million hand gloves. Seeing the existing global pandemic, this time we have decided to allow only 1000 voters per polling station instead of 1500. The Chief Election Commissioner also revealed, a total of 7.29 crore voters are expected to cast their vote in Bihar Assembly Elections 2020. Out of these number of voters, 3.39 crore voters are women. Seeing the existing global pandemic, the voting time has also been increased this time. Earlier, while voters can cast their votes between 7am to 5pm, this time the voting time has been extended to one more hour. This year, voters can cast their vote in between 7am to 6pm.
