Muzaffarpur Mega Food Park DPR Has Been Sent To The Union Ministry For Approval

Back in April this year, we first came to know that, A Mega Food Park is opening in Motipur, Muzaffarpur.

Now, With the help of a Delhi-based agency, BIADA has recently prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Mega Food Park and sent it to the Union Ministry of Food Processing for approval.

Once the Ministry will approve the DPR, the construction of the food park will be started.

BIADA officials are expecting that the DPR will be approved soon and the construction work of the park will might this month.

The officials say the park will have all the state-of-the-art food processing facilities like Storage, Supply Chain, Packaging, Waste Management, Quarters for Workers, Godowns, Green Belts, etc.

For water and waste management, the park will have Sewage Treatment Plant and Effluent Treatment Plant.

To keep the food fresh, the park will have Cold Chain.

In the DPR, the food park has been proposed to be open on 134 acres of land near the Motipur Industrial Area.

Out of the 134 acres of land, 86 acres have already been allotted to several big companies like Haldiram and they are soon going to open their food processing unit.

On the remaining land, several multinational companies have sent their proposal to the BIADA for opening their Food Processing Unit.

So far, as we know, every food processing unit in the park will have two centers.

  1. Primary Processing Center (PPC)
  2. Central Processing Center (CPC)

The PPC will be responsible for cleaning, grinding, sorting, and packaging raw materials. The center will also have pre-cold chambers and godowns to keep the goods.

The CPC will control the atmosphere of the chamber by controlling the pressure of the ventilator and humidity of the storage facilities. This center will also have a refrigerated van, steam sterilization unit, steam generation unit, food development centers, etc.
