To improve the quality of life in 100 cities of India, the Central Government launched the Smart City Mission in 2015.
Since then, they monthly ranked the smart cities based on their performance.
In Bihar, there are 4 cities selected to become Smart City.
- Patna
- Muzaffarpur
- Bhagalpur
- Bihar Shariff
In this month’s smart city ranking, Muzaffarpur secured the 55th position out of 100.
Last month, it was present at the 82nd position and now has jumped 27 places.
Muzaffarpur Municipal Commissioner, Vivek Ranjan Matrey is quite excited about the improvement in ranking.
Out of the four smart cities in Bihar:
- Bhagalpur is at the top by ranking at the 42nd position.
- Muzaffarpur at second by ranking at the 55th position.
- Bihar Sharif holds third place by ranking at 61st positions.
- Patna at last by ranking at 80th position.

If all the construction of all the projects will complete properly on time, then the city ranking might improve further in the list of smart cities in the country.
