The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has opened a portal called COWIN where one can check the availability of slots for getting the vaccine or register in a slot to get the vaccine.
While the process to check the nearest vaccination center and slots availability is simple, many people find it difficult to register for a slot. COVID Vaccine Registration Online Muzaffarpur – How to do it?
To register online for getting the COVID vaccine, a user must first visit this website.
Then, he/she have to feed his/her mobile number to get the OTP for the verification and for the initiation of the registration.
Do note that a user can register up to 4 members for getting the vaccine with one mobile number.
Now, as soon as the user feed the mobile number, an OTP will be received which is to be entered in the portal for moving in to the next step.
The next step involves the registration of members for getting the vaccine.
The portal then asks you to choose a Photo ID Proof (for example, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, Pension Passbook, NPR Smart Card, Voter ID). Then, you have to enter your photo id proof number. For example, if you choose Aadhaar as your photo id, then you have to fill up your Aadhaar Number and the Name in your Aadhaar Card. Then select your gender and fill up your year of birth to move on to the next step.
Once you complete the registration, the COWIN portal will provide you a Booking Reference ID, that will be used as your security pin during vaccination. Don’t disclose your Booking Reference ID with anyone.

Important Points for Getting the Vaccine
- Currently, the Walk-in registration and appointment facility is not available for 18-44 age group. They can register for getting the vaccine only by applying online which I described above.
- If you want to register multiple members for getting the second dose of the vaccine on the same date, then those members must have got the dose 1 of the same vaccine on the same date earlier.
- The second dose of COVAXIN should be taken between 28 to 42 days after the first dose. The second dose of COVISHIELD, on the other hand, should be taken between 42 to 56 days after the first dose.
